Today we started work at the home of Dan & Kristy, crisis response workers with ReachGlobal. We will be building a shed to store tools that belong to ReachGlobal until they are needed elsewhere in the ministry. Before we started the day's work, we got the chance to pray and hear their story. Until this past December, they and their three kids had been living in a trailer on the church site until tragically, heavy winds blew a tree down and hit their trailer with Kristy and the kids inside. Miraculously, they all made it out with minimal injuries, despite the tree falling on the bedroom with Kristy and her daughter inside. They were able to build and move into a house in March through God's provision.After our lunch break, we went on a “prayer walk” which essentially involved us splitting up and walking around the neighborhood while praying for houses and empty lots we pass by. This allows us to be visible to the people of the neighborhood and we offer to pray for anyone we see. We will continue to do this every day.At the work site, it was incredible to see the cooperation and patience everyone was able to have with each other. It was hard work and a hot day yet we were able to get a lot of framing done for the shed. We also had some people clearing brush from a neighbor's yard, who also had a lot of work done on his house by other teams (including Trinity's team last year!) We pray for continued safety and efficiency on this project as the week goes on.
