Although salvation is the free gift of God, following Jesus beyond your initial response of faith in the Gospel requires intentionality, effort and giving up your claim to your life. That’s the definition of “Jesus followership” – your capacity and willingness to follow Jesus as your leader. But the best part about it is that Jesus left you His example and His resources so that you could follow well and live out His primary objective: that we love one another as He has loved us.
