Ephesians: Building Strong Families

BUILDING STRONG FAMILIES, ERASING THE MISTAKES OF THE PAST AND WRITING A NEW HERITAGE. In Cheaper by the Dozen, Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt, AKA the Baker’s, are raising a family of 12 kids…12 kids!!! Their neighbors in Chicago can’t believe it…and some days neither can they. What kind of training does it take to raise that many children and do it well? The answer is not all that simple! Kate Baker quips at one point in the movie: “When we began our family we had 12 theories about raising children and no children. Now we have 12 children and no theories”. Thankfully the Bible offers us some great guidance on building a strong family, and one of the best places to look is the NT book of Ephesians. Here, God records how He structures His own family, the church. In studying Ephesians we discover that God does some very specific things to make his family a phenomenal place to grow up. We also find out how to apply God’s attitudes and actions to our own families, thereby making them stronger and happier places to raise children.
