Alive! By Faith in Jesus Christ
What makes a person feel truly alive? Is it having something significant to live for? Is it being a person of influence and affluence? Is it living out of our passions? Is it having everything we need…and more? Is it being deeply loved by someone else? Is it finding freedom from past pains, problems, and troubled people?
While all of these offer some level of truly improved living, to be fully alive means something much more- it means death no longer catches our breath or chills our hearts with its terrifying grip. Death is no longer feared. It no longer defines our lives. It is not the end of all good things. RATHER, to be truly and fully alive, death must be dead! And that is only possible for those who have been made truly alive by Jesus Christ.
Only Jesus defeated death and he makes that victory available to anyone who entrusts themselves to him…making them fully alive! This is the message of Romans found in chapter 5 verse 7: For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.”
