Online Giving FAQs

online giving

What are some of the benefits of online/mobile/text giving?

  • Anytime – Feeling led to give during the week, but by the time Sunday comes around, you’ve forgotten all about it? With the different forms of electronic giving, you can give anytime you choose- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Anywhere – Electronic giving offers you, the giver, an opportunity to contribute when you are not physically present at the service. Whether on vacation, staying home sick, or unable to attend a Sunday service for any reason, you can continue to give faithfully to Trinity from anywhere in the world.
  • Recurring Donations – Online and mobile giving allow you to set up recurring donations quickly and easily. So if you tend to forget your checkbook on Sundays (a lot of us do), automatic recurring donations can be a great way to make sure it’s more than the thought that counts.

What about credit cards?
We understand the concerns surrounding credit card use and debt. Therefore, while credit cards can be used to give online, we strongly urge you not to go into debt to support the ministries of Trinity Church.

What about fees? Will they affect my tax-deductible donation?
As with any online service, there are fees associated with online giving. However, we believe we have done due diligence in research to keep these fees as low as possible. We encourage giving through ACH rather than credit or debit card when possible. The associated fees will be lower.

Regardless of the manner in which you give (in person, by mail, online, etc.), you will receive full credit for your tax deduction purposes, which will be indicated on your year-end contribution statement.

Is it secure?
Trinity’s online giving is powered by Easy Tithe. According to their website, “Easy Tithe uses 128 Bit SSL technology for data transactions. All personal, credit card, & bank information is submitted using 128 bit encryption. There is no stronger form of protection than this encryption and by doing this, we eliminate the possibility that someone might ‘tap’ the line and extract your personal data from it. 128-bit SSL encryption has never been broken and according to RSL Labs, it would take a ‘trillion-trillion years’ to crack the code using today’s technology.”
