Bill wrote the song "Us Forever" on February 19, 2008 on the evening of Maria's adoption day. Most family members wrote her a letter at the time for her to open someday when she was curious about her adoption. Bill said, "We all wanted her to know how precious she was to us and the joy we all felt on the day she became 'us forever.'"
Bill decided to write his letter in the form of this song. "The seeds of inspiration for the project were written in verse 3, unbeknownst to me," Bill noted. "There was this realization that Maria will not be Us Forever until she personally chooses to receive the gift of eternal life offered by God through Jesus Christ.
