Beginning January 8, and for seven weeks, we are going to ask God to work in the lives of others. We’re committing to 10 minutes of prayer daily: 5 for people close to you who are already “in Christ” and 5 for people in your world who do not yet know Christ. The first five is for a few people with whom you are in community. The second five is for people in your world with whom you have regular influence.
We are encouraging everyone to do three things:
- Pray daily
- Share what you see God doing
- Watch for opportunities to love & connect with others.
One of the ways that you can stay in touch is through text messages. You can opt in by texting this message, @tcprayer, to this address, 81010.
February 12 – With simple words, Paul said, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Colossians 4:2). We pray, expecting God to open doors, we watch through our day, taking up opportunities to love and influence, and we give thanks to God. A beautiful picture of a day in the life of a disciple.
February 5 – Jesus knows that life is often hard – troubles, loneliness, loss, and fears can tempt us give up praying. Jesus urges us to pray again and again – don’t give up. Your Father in heaven is full of compassion; He hears and responds. And then, one day soon, Jesus will return bringing peace and fullness with Him. Jesus was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart.
(Luke 18:1 )
January 30 – Jesus was busy – people everywhere wanted Him. He had the mission of all missions, yet He prayed daily Luke 16:12). Sometimes we need to decide where and when to pray daily and just do it. There will always be more do to.
January 23 – The apostle Paul said, “In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel.” As we love and follow Christ, He gives us partners! Let’s pray with joy for one another, giving thanks and asking God to encourage them today. TakeTen Trinity. (Philippians 1:9-10)
January 16 – Take 10 minutes today to ask God for wisdom for friends in trials, for how to care for others and for helping friends know Jesus.(James 1:5)
January 9 – When Jesus began teaching about the kingdom of God, He told us to address God as Father (Matthew 6:9-10). As we pray for one another, let’s treasure in our hearts that He is our listening Father and we are His forever family. Who can you bring before our good Father today?
