All Aboard!

Connections Web Stories 9.16 AllAboard

Les & I anticipated the arrival of our young grandchildren joining us on vacation in beautiful Yosemite National Park. We decided that taking them on a steam engine ride at Narrow Gauge Railroad would be a fun adventure. Our grandson, Chase, loves trains so we knew this would be especially fun for him.

The thought of the train station focused my thinking on the arrival of our long awaited, and prayed for, new Senior Pastor, Todd Arnett. It was more important to me than the anticipated arrival of the President of the United States for his visit to Yosemite. Todd’s arrival was on God’s perfect time schedule, preaching his first sermon as senior pastor on Sunday, August 7, 2016.

Train station scenes in the movies where there is a large greeting committee anxiously awaiting the arrival of someone special comes to mind. Our Trinity Church family was the excited greeting committee on Pastor Todd’s first Sunday, which was evident by the standing room only crowd at the second service and the smiles on everyone’s face. We joyfully welcomed him into our fold, along with his lovely wife Joanna, and their precious children, Jackson (away at college), Aleah, Kendalyn, and Ellie. We welcome all of them with open arms and trust the Lord will meet their every need in this time of their family’s transition.

We also give thanks to God for His hand on those who gave generously of their time commitment and played pivotal roles in this new season of Trinity church. The waiting process was tedious for some, but we know God’s time table is perfect, and we rejoice in welcoming Pastor Todd as Senior Pastor, trusting him to shepherd us with his integrity of heart (Psalm 78:72). Pastor Todd shared his covenant to the Lord and to us in his first sermon and has given us the opportunity as the people of Trinity Church to covenant before the Lord as well in our commitment to Trinity’s Mission Statement.

If you are new to Trinity Church, or returning after a time away, we are delighted that you are with us and welcome you into the family of God here.

All aboard church family for the exciting ride ahead as we begin a new season and anticipate glorifying God under Pastor Todd’s capable leadership and live out our mission statement. “We are a community of Christ followers, longing to glorify God by loving God, loving people, sharing the Gospel and serving the world.”

It’s going to be an amazing ride!
