As Trinity’s Annual Congregational Meeting approaches, the Elder Board intends to nominate Scott Strum, Henry Meinders and Hayne Baucom, for a second term. If you have any insights, concerns or affirmations to share, please contact Elder Chairman, Jerry Flasschoen, by mail at the church or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Hayne & Rochelle Baucom will have been married fifty-three years in July 2014 and have two married children and three grandchildren. Hayne started a software business in 1975 and sold it in 2001. They have attended Trinity for twenty-five years. Rochelle has been a leader in Women’s Ministries and has been involved in many other aspects of Trinity. Hayne has lead or co-lead a Koinonia Group for over twenty-five years, and has served as an Elder at Trinity in the late 1990s. He helped run the pledge program and obtained the financing for the first phase of our building program here on Reservoir Road. His passion for the church, and for his own life, is well expressed in Trinity’s Mission Statement.
Henry & Susan Meinders have been members at Trinity for 15 years. Henry has been involved in Worship Ministries on the Lighting Team for 18 years, leading the team for 6 years. Susan has sung with the worship team and currently serves leading kid worship for TLC on Sunday mornings. Together they are committed to the value of Koinonia Small Groups, leading a group for the past 8 years. They have also served as Summer staff for TLC. Henry and Susan have been married for 15 years and have 2 children, Elizabeth age 13, and Katherine age 7. Henry works as a Mechanical Engineer for the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Norco, while Susan teaches Junior Kindergarten at Redlands Christian School.
Scott is married to Sharon and they have 3 children: David (20), Elysse (18), and Stephen (14). Being a husband and father is the most fulfilling blessing and calling of God in Scott’s life. Ministry outside of his family has involved Scott in a variety of things since starting to attend Trinity in 1986: leading numerous small groups, playing guitar in various worship contexts, Alpha, and serving on the elder board. Evangelism in the context of working as a physician has also been an important aspect of mission for Scott. Sharon has been involved in Women’s Ministry, small group leadership, Alpha, worship ministries, and prayer ministry. Our family was involved at the Trinity In The Pass campus (now Venture Church) for 2.5 years. The Strums have also been blessed to lead Financial Peace and Follow Me groups. David, Elysse, and Stephen are all committed to the Lord and serve in various ways as well. Scott works at Loma Linda University as a physician practicing and teaching Pain Management and PM&R.
