#TrinityPrays – Saturday 11.9.13

Last night I was driving home after a great evening with my daughter and sister. Unfortunately, it was very late and I was stuck in the middle of the 4th Freeway closure detour for the evening. I was very tired and found myself doing everything I could to stay awake in the middle of bumper to bumper traffic as the sound of my daughter sleeping in the back seat and the darkness of the night caused my eyelids to grow heavy. I began to pray. I prayed for the Lord to keep us safe, and then I prayed for him to help me be alert.

I immediately thought of Ephesians 6: 18 – praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.

I was reminded again of the need to pray for one another, being alert to each other’s needs in this spiritual battle. My prayer is that I would have eyes to see those needs and bring them to the Lord in prayer. But I also pray that I would be alert to the great things that God is doing in and through His people here at Trinity Church and thank God for his work in our midst.
