Sometimes I know that I want to pray for my friends, but am not sure what to ask God to do. I learn how to pray by reading Paul’s prayers for his friends. In Ephesians 3:16-19, Paul asks God to strengthen his friends in their “inner beings” and ask that Christ may dwell in their “hearts.” This inner person is the locale of our will, our moral seat. This is the hub of our faith and our world view from which we make decisions about how to love and live as a Christ-follower. Wow – when we pray, God uses His glorious riches to help us have faith, understand His love, and to dwell continually in His presence.
Father, help me to pray like this for my friends.
