#TrinityPrays – Friday 10.4.13

A biblical model for prayer is to pray according to what God has revealed about his character. Nehemiah models this in his prayer in chapter 1. Praying this way at a critical time in my life gave me a peace and trust in God I had never experienced before. Here are a couple of declarations from Psalm 33 that we can repeat back to God and then petition accordingly.

“He is faithful in all he does.” (vs.4) “The Lord loves righteousness and justice.” (vs.5)
“The plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.” (vs.11)
“From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind … considers everything they do.” (vs.13,15)
“But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.” (vs.18)

I love this closing prayer!

“May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you. (vs.22)
