My greatest point of failure daily is to walk according to the Spirit and not the flesh. The greatest evidence of how I’m doing is the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22,23. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” There are moments where I fail miserably on all 9 accounts! There is also an extensive list of “the acts of the sinful nature” in verses 19-21. I make special note of ‘fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy.’ Yikes! I’m convicted! I’m sorry, Lord! Please forgive me!
God says, “as far as the East is from the West, so far have I removed your sins from you.”
Then let’s ask the Lord to help us to keep in step with the Spirit in very specific ways. If each one of us is owning/confessing our sin, and growing in this area can you imagine what the atmosphere in our homes, community and our church gatherings would be like?
Lord, may it be so, for your glory and the witness of your church!
